In a 33-second highlight video on her twitter timeline, Maggie Herdejurgen is seen crushing the softball out of the stadium over and over.
The moment she connects, in the background of the video fans can hear her father saying “bye-bye”. It is his signature saying.
For Crosby last season as a freshman, Herdejurgen registered 13 “bye-bye” moments and has worked this offseason to have even more in 2019.
“I have worked on my physique and strength to make myself a better athlete overall,” Herdejurgen said.
Herdejurgen in 2018 batted .468 in 31 games for Crosby. The Oklahoma State-commit finished the year with nine doubles, four triples and 13 home runs.
Coming off that kind of year, Herdejurgen was voted by the fans as the 2019 VYPE Houston Pre-Season Softball Player of the Year bringing home 32,841 votes of the more than 142,000 casted.
“It means that my community is supportive of the Crosby Softball program and myself,” Herdejurgen said. “Winning this poll has gained positive recognition for Crosby, and has taken the minds of the community off of current issues.”
