VYPE 2018-19 Spotlight: Sabine Pass Girls Basketball

With a young roster Sabine Pass is fighting an uphill battle after back-to-back winless performances in district play. The Lady Sharks lean on junior Jemesia Jones and sophomore Kennedy Lejune, All-District Honorable Mention selections from a year ago, to get the job done. So far the purple and gold have picked up a few non-district wins, but sit at (0-1) in 24-2A following a 47-26 loss to Deweyville.

Raquel Johnson, Brooklyn Dixon and Jaizee Landry also play key roles for Sabine Pass this season. Coach Scott Hagedorn's squad has already proven they can compete with district competition after topping West Hardin in the High Island Tournament. If the Lady Sharks can string a few wins together in 24-2A play, they'll be heading to the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
