The State of Texas is the cradle of football, right?

In the NFL Playoff’s Elite 8, aka the conference semis, four the eight starting QBs were from Texas (Drew Brees, Pat Mahomes, Andrew Luck and Nick Foles)

Now it’s Super Bowl time this weekend as the New England Patriots face the LA Rams.

Let’s crunch some numbers, here.

Each team has a 53-man roster… multiply that by two teams and that makes 106 players.

Did you know that there are 16 players in the Super Bowl, who played Texas high school football?

That’s 15-percent of the players on the field are Lone Star State studs.

Here’s the list.

  • Rex Burkhead, RB, Plano HS
  • Adam Butler, DT, Duncanville HS
  • Marcus Cannon, OT, Odessa HS
  • Elandon Roberts, LB, Memorial HS
